VIRGIN BIRTH OF JESUS
I had been given the following information in regards to the Virgin Birth of Jesus. I just thought it was interesting and thought I'd pass it along. I am also curious of your responses to this.
Enjoy...
LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD: Lev. 17:11 "for the life of the flesh is in the blood"
All men have a "common" origin in Adam. It is in Adam's blood which courses in every man's veins, whether he be white, black, jew or gentile, etc. This blood carries the sentence of death because of Adam's sin. For in that one sinned (Adam) all (humanity) have sinned. This very fact (that sin is in the blood) necessitated the Virgin Birth of Christ. Christ partook of Adam's flesh (became man) yet not of his blood. He did not share in Adam's sin.
Let's explain:
1. The Bible teaches plainly that Jesus was conceived in the woumb of a virgin Jewish maiden by a supernatural act of the Holy Ghost, wholly apart from any generation by a human father.
2. The bible also teaches that Jesus was a sinless man. IICor. 5:21 "For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin". He took the sin of others on Himself and died THEIR death! God had a plan whereby Jesus could be perfectly human without sinful human blood. This was done by the Virgin Birth!
3. It is now known that the blood which flows in an unborn baby's arteries and veins is not derived from the Mother, but is produced within the body of the fetus itself only after the introduction of the male sperm. The female egg does not by itself contain the element essential for the production of this blood.
4. From the time of conception to the time of birth, not one single drop of blood ever passes from Mother to Child. The union between the Mother and Child is so constructed that nutritive elements pass freely between mother and child and the waste products are passed into the mother's circulation (placenta). No actual interchange of a single drop of blood ever occurs normally. All the blood which is in the child is produced within the child itself, as a result of the male sperm. The mother contributes no blood at all. How wonderfully God prepared for the Virgin Birth of His Son!
5. The very fact that sin is in the blood necessitated the Virgin Birth of Christ. Christ partook of Adam's flesh (became man) yet not of his blood. He did not share in Adam's sin. The whole plan of redemption rests upon the power of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!
